Connect WhatsApp

Go to Channels in the panel (or the “Channels” step of the welcome wizard if it’s your first time).

Before you start

You need a WhatsApp Business API account (WABA) — this is not the same as the regular WhatsApp app on your phone. If you don’t have one yet, you create it in the same step, inside Meta’s own window.

Connect (recommended)

1. Click Connect. An official Meta/Facebook window opens.
2. Sign in with your Facebook account and choose (or create) your WhatsApp Business account.
3. Confirm the phone number you’ll use to handle WhatsApp.
4. Done — Cercanto links to that number automatically. You’ll never need to copy or paste any technical code.

If your number is new, it may ask for one last step: registering it with a 6-digit PIN you choose yourself, so it’s enabled to send and receive messages.

Don’t see the “Connect” button?

While we finish rolling out automatic Meta connection for every business, you might see a form to leave your contact info instead — fill it in and our team connects your number on their end. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s active for you.

Already connected — now what?

You’ll see your connected number under Channels, with its status (active, or an error to fix). From here, any message that reaches you on that number gets answered by your bot using what you loaded in Knowledge base.
